Social Responsibility

The Club was formed in 1907, primarily as a destination for inland employee holiday makers associated with mining houses, mainly from Kimberley and Johannesburg

As the town grew, the attraction of this golfing facility was extended to all citizens of the town and people throughout South Africa. It was bestowed the title “Royal” in 1924 and is now one of 65 Royal golfing clubs in the world, thereby participating in this family of golf’s privileges and therefore attracting similar interested golfers  worldwide

The ethical framework of our Social Responsibility obligations is to act for the benefit of our society at large.  Social Responsibility is an important element of citizenship, alongside sustainable and good governance

We are here  to provide reasonably affordable sporting facilities to our citizens and others and to preserve the unique environmental beauty that we and the community has inherited, hopefully for years to come
